What are the Benefits of the watson-brown scholarship 2022/2023

The Watson-Brown Foundation Scholarship recipients may choose from among the following amounts of money:

  • award of a moderate amount, $3,000
  • Maximum Amount Given: $5,000
  • Awarded in full: $2,400,000

The grant amount, which is renewable for up to four years of college study, is $3,000 or $5,000 per year. The amount awarded depends on the applicant’s qualifications.

Qualifying Nationality

A scholarship from the Watson-Brown Foundation is available to law students who are citizens of the United States.

The following prerequisites must be met by applicants in order to be eligible for the Watson Brown Foundation Scholarship;

  • The candidate must be a resident of one of the following counties in Georgia or South Carolina and a senior in high school, college, or currently enrolled as an undergraduate student.
  • Burke, Columbia, Elbert, Glascock, Hart, Jefferson, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, and Wilkes were all governors of Georgia.
  • Aiken, Abbeville, Edge Field, Greenville, McCormick, and Spartanburg are all in South Carolina.
  • You must enroll in a university or non-profit institution for at least four years. The Foundation honors universities and colleges that have received recognition from one or more regional accrediting bodies, such as SACS.
  • minimum GPA of 3.0
  • US citizenship is required.
  • You must enroll in school full-time.
  • Residents of Georgia and South Carolina are not eligible for the program.

How to apply for Watson brown Scholarship 2023/2024

On the Watson-Brown Foundation website, applications can be downloaded.

For access to the application and to login, students must first create an account. Prior to submitting a letter of reference request, be sure to include your name.

“Add or Edit Recommendation Requests” can be found by returning to the main menu.

Fill out the form to request a recommendation by adhering to the requirements. Make sure to complete the “Personal Message from Student” section, which should include your full name, the request you are making, and the contact information for the person who is authorizing your recommendation.

Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation in order to submit a full scholarship application.

You can make more requests by clicking “Save and Add Another” after you’ve made one. Remember that the individual writing the recommendation letter must be from your school.

To resend your request or to check the status of your request Log into your account and choose “Add or Edit Recommendation Requests” from the main menu to monitor the status or resend your requests.

The status “Contacted” indicates that your request has been received but that the person who recommended you has not yet submitted a letter, while the state “Responded” indicates that your letter has been uploaded.

Before and after you submit your scholarship application, the recommenders may upload their letterheads to your system.

The Foundation should receive each letter of recommendation no later than February 15.

Students are required to turn in an authentic photocopy of their parents’ most recent IRS Form 1040. The form can be printed and mailed, or it can be scanned and immediately uploaded into an online form.

If you are unable to complete the forms you have asked for any reason, please explain why in the Financial Need Statement portion of the application or enclose a written justification with the other supporting documents.

If you have any questions, you can also speak with the Foundation directly. The Foundation office uses the confidential financial data to assess whether financial assistance is required. You may, however, ban or remove your social security number at any time. After prizes are given out, the records won’t be destroyed for 60 days.

Verify the accuracy of the accompanying documentation. Verify that you have gotten your transcripts and letters of recommendation on schedule. Make sure to turn in all forms by February 15th, the latest. Make sure you receive a confirmation email after submitting the form.
